C hiropractic was discovered in the late 1800s is one of the few fields that is a pure healthcare. Other healthcare professions focus on a problem and how to fix it. They are therefore not healthcare but rather sickness, disease, or injury care. These professions are very important in our society but they leave a large gap that can be filled by chiropractic. We understand where to go when we are sick or injured (do we?) but what about when we are healthy and want to remain that way? What if we are healthy and want to be a little healthier? What if we feel great but want to live a better life? This is where chiropractic comes in. The focus of chiropractic is simple: to allow your nerve system to function at its best and allow your body to be able to express it’s inborn ability to be healthy. When your body is working at its best, it is more capable of remaining healthy and healing quickly. Many people choose chiropractic because they have heard that it will “fix” their aches and pains. Ten percent of the nerve system carries pain, ninety percent carries function. While relief from aches and pains comes quickly under chiropractic care, you now know there is a much larger picture. The body was created to be healthy, chiropractic simply allows the body to do its work without any interference.
Stress is becoming an integral part of our everyday lives and it wears different masks. Most of us can find some form of stress in every aspect of our lives. Many times however, the amount of stress we put on ourselves is far too great for our bodies to handle effectively. What our bodies do in this case, is to store stress inside: in the muscles, ligaments, and other tissues of the body. Many times we can feel this in our shoulders for instance. Chiropractic helps the body to release these stored areas of stress or energy so that the body can become more balanced and function better. During a chiropractic adjustment, this stress, or potential energy, is turned into kinetic energy that can be used by the body. All ages and walks of life can benefit from regular chiropractic care. At the Café of Life, chiropractic care is delivered to everyone: from newborns to their great-grandparents, pregnant mothers, people experiencing a sickness, those who are healthy, and those who strive for health.
